New Couch Gamers Custom Field Options – Posts

Hello all!
We’ve added the option to let you guys create Custom Fields on each post type you make!
Go to Posts > Post Types > Add Post Type
Select how many extra fields you want, whether they’re text fields or text areas and set the title for each!
Enjoy your extra fields for the selected Post Type when adding a post!
We may add similar functionality to the game pages… stay tuned for an update!
That looks nice but stop putting new stuff in and polish what you have right now to launch it already
PS – Don’t take the ccms path and clutter the database. Please keep it tidy

@Lulu … The database is much cleaner and simpler than it use to be! We merged stuff and optimized it for better performance

We’re waiting on that one. If we end up using Flow Player within the system, we’ll see if we can use some of the plugins available to put an Age Gate together..
Age-gate should be included in Couch. What do you do if you have some mature screenshots (no, not porn
screenshots from manhunt 3 for example)?
Should be a global box you can check for items like images, articles, videos, etc. The scrips should just look up user age (which users should have.. correctly set)

Wow, custom fields are awesome! Add this to the game pages as well.
“Age Gate”: Please make this for ALL content! In the backend you can configure that every content is selected for a specific age has an age gate. So you have to add to article/games/… a field with a dropdown list of ages from the rating boards.
In Germany the politicans want to censor the internet and force every (German) website to make a age gate for all content.
The law comes not yet, because it was rejected by Parliament

It is being revised because the government of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia thinks the law unusable in its current form.
Many popular German Websites have announced that they will delete all their content when the law really comes…
Our politicians are stupid old people who have no idea about the internet
Before the law is decided, all 16 governments of the German states must agree to the law. 15 have agreed (probably because all of them have no idea), but the government of North Rhine-Westphalia state saved us from this disaster and disagreed with the law.
It would be cool if you guys can make a age gate system. When it is to much work, then make it first for videos and make the rest later.

Weve got such a law already and it like in other countrys too. officially pressreleases in the internet have to controll, that kids do not see content what is for adults. Its like a magazine in a shop. as a kid, nobody should buy you that, because you would be punished by law.
So we have already and since some years the duty to control our content in germany. You will find such agegates already at all greater Onlinegamesmagazinsin germany like PCGAMES, PCACTION, 4players and so on…

Übrigens wirste ein solches Agegate schon bei den großen gamesmagazinen finden.

NRW hat ja dagegen gestimmt, da sie es in der jetzigen Form völlig unbrauchbar finden.
Das es Überarbeitet wird ist aber logisch und solche Altersüberprüfungen beziehen sich meiner Meinung nach doch nur auf eine stupide Eingabe eines Geburtsdatums, die jeder “fälschen” kann, oder irre ich mich da?
Die wollten mit der Novellierung des JMStV ja eine Alterskennzeichnung für jeden einzelnen Inhalt erzwingen, oder man stellt die gesamte Seite unter ein Alter. Da kommen aber schon die ersten Schwierigkeiten, dass wenn man die Seite als “Ab 12″ einstuft, aber ein Artikel eigentlich an 16 Jährige gerichtet ist, dann kommt ein Schreiben von Bußgeldanwälten.
Um jeden Inhalt einzeln einzustufen braucht man einen Gutachter, der monatlich kostet. Außerdem muss der Betreiber dann dafür Sorge tragen, wenn der Inhalt/Seite mit einer Alterskennzeichnung gekennzeichnet ist, keiner darauf zugreifen darf, der jünger ist.
Hättest du was dagegen wenn wir uns bisschen über ICQ (etc) über unsere Websiten unterhalten

It’s like porn sites: anyone can enter if they lie about their age. You just have to put the agegate so they can’t sue you
