Graphics
Next-Gen graphics have finally arrived and how beautiful they are when unveiling Gears of War in action on a 1080i screen! The character models are incredibly detailed, but the real magic comes when you see them in motion! Fluid... Fluid… Fluid… And the details don’t just look good from far away! You’ll be jumping out of your seat when you see the gruesomely detailed face of your nemesis as he comes up and introduces you to the butt of his firearm! Oh, and I should inform you that there is a LOT OF BLOOD!
The environments are awe-inspiring. They’re massive and detailed at a micro level! Close in on any object and you’ll be amazed at how meticulous the texture work is. The intricacies are worth spending hours just appreciating the realistic walls, broken pillars, staircases, floor tiles, vehicle models, statues, chandeliers etc.
Camera Work
Gears of War plays like an incredibly polished Action Movie. The camera takes a number of cues from cinematography, zooming in and out during key action sequences, wobbling behind you as you jam on the ‘A’ button to book it to the next hiding spot, raising and turning as you knock down that door with the brute force of your size 12 boot. The camera work is just tremendous and adds so much value and immersion to such an already incredible experience.
